The Metamorphosis (me and my people)

My second innings in Aligarh was much sought after. I was much desperate to get selected this time than my past course. reasons were obvious, AMU was convenient, AMU was comfortable and more importantly AMU was like home. I have spent 9 years here. next year after I get my degree (InshaAllah) I would have spent a full decade here...Long time... its almost half of my conscious life... So when I look back at these 9 years I see a lot of changes, both in myself and the environment I am in. AMU made me speak, but it also taught me how to listen (believe me the world's best 'chatterboxes' are made here), it made me patient, a little hardworking, a lot lazier, it made me appreciate life, meet new people, made me judge them sometimes ( I know it is wrong) but most of the time AMU inspired me to respect them for their individuality. AMU kind of humbles you and also makes you proud. I may sound like an Alig infected by AMU virus, but its true. I think thats why the motto of the university is "taught man that which he knew not." you will certainly learn about that aspect of life here about which you have either no idea or wrong idea. It kind of matures you, preparing you for tomorrow but making sure to save the humane attitude of yours. Its a university and not a factory. That was about me. I like the person I have grown into in these 9 years and I will make sure that the development doesn't stops. Now about the environment. Well 3 vice-chancellors changed, I don't remember exactly how many student elections happened but at least 3 did happen, new roads, few new courses too but most importantly my immediate environment metamorphosed itself... so let me put up my judgmental cap and analyze the categories- 1."I want money people"- I mean thinking of them in the beginning, money? Seriously they masqueraded this side for years... I am sure they have a reason to love something that futile, saving every single penny, even wasting their 'right now' for some imaginative future. 2."You are a loser group"- they always think the other person is a loser; seriously sometimes you can actually see disgust in there eyes. They are authoritative and 'End of discussion type'. believe me they are a closed box, never open for logic or change. These people were always authoritative, but this disgust thing is a recent achievement (due to some imaginative applaud they received for some hidden project no one is aware of.) 3."Metamorphosis"- this group changed like the famous slang 'Behanji turned model', yeah it has all the weirdos who got sorted, backbenchers becoming top rankers, reserved ones becoming chatterboxes, trustwothy people becoming @#$% and friend becoming not so friendly (ouch...) 4."Do I know you?"- this group gives you the look as if they have never seen you, I mean .... wake up buddy.... we studied 9 years together, you cheated from my test paper so many times..... Do you have amnesia or alzheimers or stroke....What??? yeah but not all are that bad... we all have matured certainly... initially i used to react to these categories... now I just secretly blog ( ha ha ha)... see so civilized... Anyways this article was just for fun... how boring my life would be without you all lovely people....love you all!

I was born intelligent but Education ruined me

I heard this quote ages back in 2003 when I was in school. Initaially I thought that it related with the carefree life we had out of schools and the uniformed life in school but with time I understood the real deapth of the saying. To be true today I lived it. Technically I am a part of most educated & privileged part of society. We all are substances of envy and we all have a world that we rule. We have worked harder than any other professionals (MBBS is chosen as the HARDEST course of the world by Guiness book of world records 2012)…. Education reforms us, improves us, makes us all into a better human beings, gives us better understanding of today and yesterday, better hopes for future, makes us humble, civilized and blah blah blah…. But is that really so…..i think the whole concept has transformed….. The whole purpose of education is how efficiently we can deliver our lies, hide our faults and blame others…… I don’t know if degrees improve our IQ but certainly with every certificate our EGO increases manifolds….. The basic chapters of moral teachings get hazy with loads of knowledge we are gaining everyday…..I really don’t want that kind of education…..and I totally despise SUCH educated people too…..are u people for real…. I don’t say that remember God and the last day but come on….wake up and see this world…. Everyone cares for him/herself and his family but this doesn’t means that everyone else beyond it is a burden on existence…. The world may have become a global village but VASHUDHAIVAKUTUMBAKAM (the feeling that whole world is one house) is non- existence…. I know today I am so much so disgusted by educated people that the positive and hopeful side of me just wonders how long will I survive without corruption… I hope the education that I received gives me the wisdom to decide right from wrong and then the strength to choose right from wrong and then the patience to just stick with the right irrespective of anything and everything…. P.S. Read “The Gentleman” by Premchand in class 11 where he described a gentleman as some 1 who could efficiently cover his faults or smarty blame others responsible for his mistakes….the better u are in this, the better are you in the eyes of the world ( a true gentleman perhaps)….truthfulness, honesty, sensitivity….foolish people do that…..

Second Innings

It has been over 2 months since i joined. This world is so very different from my memories about this place. Branches/selections have divided my batch and people have developed superiority and inferiority complexes. Acquaintances may have multiplied but friends stuff just evaporated. As if everyone have become serious by some magic trick and i can bet that most of them don't even know what they are so serious about. A good part of me is glad that I didn't enter this PG world last year. At least it gifted me one year of fresh air, new thoughts , ideas and plans. Whats the point of earning money if its spent or stacked out of purpose, whats glamour in any degree if that degrades your behavior. This world may be changed but I am still the same person. I still haven't learnt to ignore.

Civil Disobedience RELOADED...

Civil disobedience is the active refusal to obey certain laws, demands and commands of a government. This is the word which had made impacts in Indian history, the word that was powerful enough to make India free, make India the largest democracy globally.

I daily take the same route to college and these days I can see a new form of civil disobedience. ..the people refuse to throw garbage in municipal dustbin littering it here and there, the municipal people refuse to clean the mess, the traffic policemen are missing from the crossroads ignoring their duties, the pharmacist are illiterate selling anything to anyone as far as you can pay for it, the shop owners do not think twice before selling cigarettes to a 6 year old, the ‘no parking’ areas are flooded with stationary machines, children are working in almost every dhabas in shamshad, even the most coveted exam forms (IAS) are available only by paying bribe at the post offices…and the list is never ending…

We all know that all the above offences punishable by LAW…but most of my fellow citizens just don’t care…is this some kind of CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE the Indian people are following…but why?…why this attitude?…why such irresponsible behavior towards the laws of that one great nation for which our forefathers have given their life?…

The answer is simple and straight…JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED…

There are nearly 30 million cases pending in courts right now…they oldest pending case is 170 years old…just imagine 170 years…India has become free, governments have changed, India got divided, animals became extinct, America became the superpower, our population increased many folds but that case still was left PENDING…

We all have acclimatized to the fact that no matter what no one will notice, even if someone notices he won’t care to complain, and if the person cares to complain the LAW will stand at our side making sure that nothing happens, and if by chance something is decided its really futile as compared to our crime…this makes us fearless, indifferent and highly irresponsible…

308 members of constitutional assembly worked day and night for 166 days, spread over a period of 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to frame the longest constitution in the world, the parliament made the law for the biggest democracy in the world…but something, somehow went wrong…No one feels responsible for his country his actions, we all can play this dirty blame game for hours but cant WASTE a second in admitting our mistakes…

(I still can write pages over this subject…………………………hence to be continued…)

Breaking the Status Quo....

It was an old saying that when you are in Rome do as the Romans do...but generation Y refuses it all...

For 5 years my life in JNMCH was more or less the same...Waking up for class at 0800 hours, same old classes, the very same chalk dust or power-point presentations, same bunch of people to hang around, same anxiety before sessionals and exams and same relaxation once you pass them...Life 100% was not bad but yes it was SAME...

But somewhere around mid prof i realized that this Status Quo was being disturbed...Charity and charitable endeavors were not just limited to drug society...People were thinking, breaking inhibitions, striving for more than i have ever seen...There were active discussions on all the impossible topics- religion, nationality, feminism or even skin colour and people were participating, putting there point of view and taking others thoughts very sportingly...People were not just striving to be an MBBS, they wanted to be a doctor, feel the real spirit of this profession, and more importantly be a better person, a better human being...

I don't say that this was applicable to all but yes the number quite enough to get noticed...I cant even say that this happened now...I just wanna say that i noticed it now...possibly i was blind...or there actually was not enough momentum to feel...

Its always said that actions speak louder than words...but even for the word stuff you have to think and the sad part is that people have totally forgotten to think...Got so much into their own lives that they don't even notice whats happening around us...so i think that even if these people don't make a significant difference in this worlds, the fact that they have woken up and started thinking deserves applause...
After all Al-Quran repeatedly asks you to notice and think...
So buddies wake up...try to give up this PARASITIC way of thinking we all have accumulated in our genes over ages, thinking about us all the time...try to be in MUTUALISM with the world, try to give back this world something in return of all the things that have been given to you, even if its as small as planting a tree OR even better if you live like a COMMENSAL giving and not expecting anything back...

Being born ---> living ---> death...This is whats happening to 107 persons/ minute across the globe...This is our one life...our only chance...try to do your share before its impossible...After all we are Generation Y and we have IT in us...For starters "START THINKING!!!"...

P.S. parasitic, commensalism, mutualism are words used to describe relationship between organism...
Parasitic-parasite, benefits at the expense of the host.
Mutualism-cases where both organisms benefit
Commensalism-benefits one organism and the other organism is neither benefited nor harmed

As the FOLKS say.......

This is a story i heard at my village ages back and it keeps coming back to me everyday as i grow up...sometimes via the newspapers other times trough the experiences of a acquaintance...

Long time ago MAN (our hero of the story) had total life span of 25 years...One day the DEVIL (villain of course) lured him by saying that when even animals lived longer ,man 'the supreme creature' deserved better...So POOR man prayed , prayed and prayed...GOD appeared before him and asked for his wish...He said that he wanted a longer life...God tried to persuade him that 25 years were enough to live a fruitful life but man was not ready to listen to anything...Hence God gave up...He looked around and found that OX had a long life so He deduced 25 years from its life and added it to the Man's life...
The man was very happy...He came back home where the devil was waiting for him...He scorned at Man and ask him to ask for more life as he was not fit to die in JUST 50 YEARS...He said,"you are so young and you have the experience. You need more time to utilize that experience u have earned and pass it on to others"
Poor Man was again taken up so he again prayed, prayed and prayed...GOD appeared once again...MAN asked for more life...God once again tried to stop him but who has ever been successful to stop a MAN bent on doing something...So God again surveyed and this time deducted 25 years from a DOG'S life and added it to man's...
The man lived for some more time when again he was tempted for more life...He again......(prayed, prayed and prayed)and once again his demand was put in front of GOD...God this time reduced OWL'S life and added it to man's.

Hence at the end, Final words...
First 25 years of your life you live like humans, exploring, searching, learning enjoying and actually living every second offered to you...You have dreams and determination to fulfill them..
Next 25 years (26 - 50) you work like an OX,working....working...and working, feeding all those around you and having no time for yourself.
Next 25 years(51-75) you are now old...Your children are young and enthusiastic...You don't have that zeal you used to have previously...You are barking like a dog at them but they hardly listen to you cause they think that you are outdated...
Next 25 years (75 - 100) if you actually live long enough to see this , by this time you have learnt to mute yourself (like an owl),just sitting and watching and have stopped living...

So the first 25 years are the BEST that we can ask for,the most comfortable, cosy, protected, most memorable and most HUMANE...HAVE fun...Enjoy life...Cause its now or never..........

Sense...Nonsense

This is s real weird article ....actually I had nothing much to do these holidays so I decided to use my senses...I mean all the five sense organs I have ear eyes nose tongue and skin...so 1st task was to give my tongue a break as it is the only organ I use throughout the year...
I once read an article Helen Keller...once she asked her friend who happened to return from a market place about the things he saw there...he just replied that there was nothing worth watching... she was shocked and replied that she found it surprising how people with eyes could not see anything which probably meant that we were living no better than a blind person...
So the 2nd task was to start seeing...
Then I had to be more attentive to sound and touch but what’s the topic for today did sniff sniff ... I mean smell...
I went to 4 different cities and met more than 10 families in a week long holidays...and I made a note of the first smell as I stepped on the city platform or road...
Faizabad was dusty, feeling like I can develop silicosis with just a sniff, it smelled like soil fresh and dry...my home as I entered smelled of curry...delicious
Lucknow my favorite place but it smelled like carbon...possibly the smoke of the bike in front of my vehicle...and chowk was sweaty and choking...my house there...mmmm it smelled of mixture of diapers and spilled milk...ha ha ha
I visited few more places and then I came home...and Aligarh it smelled like SMOKE...

P.S. do give this a try...it’s actually better than I have written...:-)
